Public Signup Initiative | Community Survey Program
Registration is underway; scientific surveys to take place through June 2027
PITT COUNTY, N.C. – Pitt County launched a public signup initiative on day, August 17, 2026, for its 2026-27 community survey program powered by FlashVote. The registration allows participants a convenient way to share opinions and insights through relevant topic-based scientific surveys.
“During the development of the County’s first Strategic Plan, it was reported in public input sessions that some residents may not be receiving our communications,” says Janis Gallagher, Pitt County Manager. “Through the Plan’s implementation, the Public Information Office will build a representative sample panel that aligns with the demographics of our communities. Once the panel is built, PIO will execute six scientific surveys related to communication preferences and other business-related topics throughout this fiscal year.”
Residents may sign up online at PittCountyNC.gov/FlashVote or phone/text by dialing 775-235-2240.
Registration is simple and surveys usually take less than one minute.
Panelists can opt to receive surveys by email, text message or telephone. When a new survey becomes available, participants will be notified and have 48 hours to respond. Residents may opt out at any time.
“The first survey will seek input on communication preferences for (among others) how, where, formatting and frequency to receive local government news and information,” says Dawn Jones, Director of Public Information/Media Relations. “Responses submitted through FlashVote are anonymous. Personal information is never shared with Pitt County or third parties and panel demographics are anonymized to ensure all populations and communities are adequately represented.”
After each survey closes, participants will receive a results summary, to compare responses with other community members.
“This is a great example of strategic plan implementation,” continues Gallagher. “Upon completion of the survey series with independent analysis and reporting by FlashVote, the Public Information Office will have the data to build the foundation for successful strategic marketing and communications.”
